Victoria is awash with places to shop, especially within its two large shopping centres: Cardinal and Victoria Place. Both of these contain a handy selection of gyms (e.g. City Athletic), banks (e.g. Barclays), clothes shops (e.g. Zara), cafes – and lots more. That said, there are plenty more independent options and high street brands spread out before you on Victoria Street. Popping along to the Nova development is a great option for both shopping and food.

For daily needs, there are several supermarkets, including Tesco and Sainsbury’s – and it’s very easier to travel further afield to get whatever you can’t find with Victoria’s excellent transport links.

On a separate note, something else that defines Victoria is its proximity to the royal St. James’ Park, and the fact that Hyde Park and Green Park also sit very close by. These provide a pleasant and tranquil escape from Victoria’s busiest streets, contrasting its reputation as a transport hub. Learn more about living in Victoria in London in our guide.

The Victoria Circle and Nova projects have both thoroughly enhanced the area around Victoria Station with new retail, office, and residential spaces.

Victoria tends to be popular among professionals, families, and international buyers, due to its central location and excellent transport links. Buyers and tenants will find a wide range of properties available.

  • Where you can find the best properties: The finest properties can be found around Vincent Square, where substantial Victorian townhouses dominate. On the other hand, the grand terraced properties in the area sold at a significantly higher price, reaching nearly £2.2m – reflecting their size, prestige and quality. Experienced Victoria estate agents in London can help you exceed these prices with the right strategy.
  • The rental market: The area draws particular interest from professionals in finance and government sectors, supporting consistent rental demand. Victoria letting agents can help landlords take advantage of purpose-built developments around the transport interchange, which are popular with corporate tenants, while period conversions appeal to longer-term renters.

Victoria’s position near Westminster drives demand for policy, communications, and political consulting jobs.
The hospitality sector continues expanding with high-end hotels and restaurants, while retail positions grow through developments like Cardinal Place and Nova Food.

Victoria’s excellent transport links have made it the ideal location for business headquarters, with many located there. As such, many roles in admin, technology and other white-collar services have flourished, with ongoing job growth related to the sustainability industries and tech.
